Edan Alexander, an Israeli soldier who survived captivity by Hamas, was released Friday from Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv after completing a full set of medical and psychological evaluations. Alexander’s family issued a public statement requesting privacy during this sensitive period, emphasizing their desire to focus on his full recovery away from media attention.
Hospital Pledges Continued Support
In a statement, Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov) confirmed they will continue to support Alexander and his family as needed: “We call on the public and media to continue respecting the family’s privacy during these emotional and delicate days.” Hospital officials also emphasized that their staff remain on alert and fully prepared to receive additional hostages returning from Gaza.
“We hope to see all the hostages back home soon—until the last one,” the statement concluded.

Life Sign from Fellow Hostage
Earlier today, Einav Tzangauker, mother of hostage Matan Tzangauker, announced she had received a life sign from her son—delivered through Edan Alexander. Previous accounts from other released captives had indicated that Alexander and Tzangauker were held together in Hamas tunnels. With Alexander’s return, the family of Matan received renewed confirmation of his condition.
“We now have proof he’s alive,” Einav said. “That alone gives us the strength to keep hoping.”
