In a joint operation conducted by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet (Israel’s internal security agency), Israeli forces eliminated Jasser Hussein Ali Shamiah, a senior Hamas military official responsible for managing the group’s financial network. The strike occurred last week in Gaza City, as part of Israel’s ongoing campaign to degrade Hamas’s military and financial infrastructure.

Shamiah’s Role: Millions Funneled to Hamas’s Military Wing
Shamiah, a former battalion commander in Hamas’s Gaza Brigade, had played a pivotal role in channeling tens of millions of dollars into Hamas’s armed operations since the start of the current conflict. The funds were used to strengthen the group’s military capabilities, pay militant salaries, and sustain terror activities, especially in northern Gaza. His assassination marks a significant blow to Hamas’s financial network and its efforts to maintain combat operations.
