This Thursday, May 15, 2025, Israel will join countries around the world in celebrating International Museum Day, a global initiative to make museums more accessible and engaging for everyone. Over 120 institutions nationwide will be participating — and entrance is free for all.
A Cultural Day for Everyone
Held annually on May 18, International Museum Day encourages people of all backgrounds to experience the treasures found in museums. This year’s theme is “The Future of Museums in an Era of Changing Communities,” which feels especially relevant in Israel — a diverse society with a deep connection to history and innovation.

Whether you’re here with family, friends, or exploring on your own, it’s a fantastic opportunity to visit world-class museums at no cost. Participating locations range from modern art galleries and science centers to Jewish heritage sites and archaeological campuses — many offering guided tours and interactive experiences in multiple languages.
