Following Donald Trump’s visit to the region, Israeli officials believe that the coming days will be critical for securing a hostage deal. According to reports from Channel 12 News, negotiations may advance due to the anticipated visit of the U.S. President, alongside Israel’s warning of intensifying military action if progress is not made before his departure.
“Two Significant Days”
Officials stated, “These are two significant days. If there is any movement from Hamas, we will likely see it right before or even during Trump’s visit.” Trump is scheduled to depart Washington on Monday, heading to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi, before returning to Washington on Thursday.
During his trip to the Middle East, Trump is expected to focus on Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. The U.S. administration continues efforts to secure an agreement during the visit. Qatar, serving as a mediator, is pressuring Hamas, but as of this writing, there has been no change in the terrorist organization’s stance. If Hamas does not alter its position, Israel plans a large-scale ground operation immediately following Trump’s departure from the region.
