Ten Syrian Druze civilians were evacuated into Israel over the past two days after being wounded in fighting on Syrian territory. They were transported to Ziv Medical Center in Safed to receive medical treatment.
The injured Druze were hurt during clashes between the new regime of Abu Mohammed al-Julani and Druze communities refusing to recognize his authority. In response to the events, Israeli Druze held intense protests across the country last week, demanding that the IDF intervene in Syria.

The humanitarian evacuation coincided with a major operation carried out in recent days by the IDF’s 810th “Mountain” Brigade, under the command of the 210th Division. The operation targeted the central command of the Syrian unit responsible for the Mount Hermon region. During the mission, IDF paratroopers and the elite Yahalom engineering unit uncovered bunkers, cannons, mortars, rockets, explosives, and mines—all of which were either seized or destroyed on site.

The objective of the operation was to dismantle the military capabilities of the former Syrian regime and to prevent weapons from spilling over into Israeli territory or reaching terrorist organizations. The IDF emphasized that efforts to disrupt enemy infrastructure in Syria will continue as part of its mission to protect the residents of northern Israel in general, and the Golan Heights in particular.
