Since Saturday night, tens of thousands of emergency call-up orders—Tzav 8—have been issued to Israel Defense Forces reservists. The objectives are clear and justified: dismantling Hamas and bringing home the 59 hostages still held in Gaza. But even as the war must continue, the emotional toll of putting the uniform back on is deeply felt.

“No idea which round this is”
Chaim Goldberg is best known for his powerful photography with the Flash90 agency, though he sometimes shares his images on his personal X account. This morning (Monday), Goldberg captured a series of heartfelt farewells between reservists and their loved ones—just before the soldiers boarded buses for another three-month stretch in uniform.
“A morning in Jerusalem, no idea which round this is,” he wrote.
