Airstrike in Syria Targets Threat Against Druze Civilians

Earlier today, the IDF carried out an airstrike in southern Syria, targeting a radical group preparing to attack the Druze town of As-Suwayda (As’khaniya) in the Damascus region.
In addition to the operation, Israel sent a clear warning to the Syrian regime, stating it expects active prevention of harm to the Druze population.
Solidarity With the Druze Community
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a joint statement: “On this Memorial Day, as we honor the heroic contributions of Israel’s Druze community to our national defense, we emphasize our commitment to their safety and dignity—both in Israel and across the border in Syria.”
They affirmed that Israel will not tolerate harm to the Druze, noting the deep familial and historical bonds between the Druze of Israel and Syria.
