The final rehearsal for the torch-lighting ceremony took place this Monday evening at Mount Herzl.
The ceremony, marking Israel’s 77th Independence Day, will be held on Wednesday evening.
The torch-lighting ceremony is considered the central event marking the transition from the mourning of Memorial Day for Israel’s fallen soldiers to the celebrations of Independence Day.
This year’s theme is “Bridges of Hope,” highlighting torch-lighters who, through their public service, have helped bridge different sectors of Israeli society.

At the conclusion of the rehearsal, Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana told RegaNEWS: “Only positive messages! We must lift the nation’s spirit, and with God’s help, the people of Israel will hear good news.”

“The People of Israel Will Hear Good News”
Following the torch-lighting rehearsal, the Knesset Speaker conveyed an important message to viewers and readers.

Minister of Transportation Miri Regev added: “The torch-lighters bring with them a message of hope. The Creator is with us. Here we have the Nova families, the families of the hostages, bereaved families, representatives of mutual responsibility, kindness and charity, and athletes — all together representing the beauty of Israeli society.”

The Moment Agam Berger’s Mother Could Not Hold Back Her Tears
Earlier, RegaNews reported on some moving moments during the final rehearsal for the torch-lighting ceremony:
Agam Berger, a reconnaissance soldier from the Nahal Oz outpost who was kidnapped on October 7, was chosen to perform at the upcoming Independence Day ceremony.
Her mother, Merav, could not hold back her tears as she watched her daughter play the violin on stage at Mount Herzl during the rehearsal.
