In a special initiative by the Aeronautical Sports Association, in cooperation with the Hostages and Missing Families Forum, the Flight of the Hostages will take place on Independence Day (Thursday). Three light aircraft will fly in a missing-man formation, symbolizing that the State of Israel cannot truly celebrate full independence while 59 hostages remain in captivity.
The flight will begin over Rishon Lezion and continue along the coastline toward Sdot Yam. Along the route, the aircraft will pass over major landmarks including Charles Clore Park, Tel Aviv Port, Herzliya Marina, and Jaffa Port.
