As Israel prepares to honor its fallen heroes on Memorial Day for Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terrorism 2025, the Defense Ministry has announced the expansion of its groundbreaking “Paths of Remembrance” app, designed to assist visitors in navigating military cemeteries. This year, Israel solemnly adds 316 fallen soldiers and 61 disabled veterans who passed away from wounds sustained in the line of duty, to its national roll of honor.
The Department of Families, Commemoration, and Heritage within the Defense Ministry has spearheaded several initiatives to strengthen national remembrance, inviting the public to participate in honoring those who gave their lives defending the Jewish state.

Expanded Access to 109 Military Cemeteries Across Israel
Throughout the past year, Defense Ministry teams have worked tirelessly to extend the “Paths of Remembrance” app, which now covers 109 military cemeteries, up from the previous 20. The app provides precise walking navigation to the gravesites of more than 20,000 fallen soldiers across Israel. Users can simply enter a soldier’s name in the search bar and receive step-by-step guidance straight to the site of their grave.

In addition to navigation, the app links directly to each soldier’s personal memorial page on the official “Yizkor” website, offering visitors an opportunity to learn more about the individuals behind the names.
Embracing Memory with Modern Tools
The expansion of “Paths of Remembrance” reflects Israel’s deep commitment to never forgetting the sacrifices made by its defenders and the victims of terror. The project blends tradition with modern technology, ensuring that families, friends, and all Israelis can easily and meaningfully pay tribute on Memorial Day and throughout the year.
A special tutorial video has also been released to help first-time users navigate the app’s features.
