The Ministry of Aliyah and Integration launched a new memorial and tribute site this morning (Sunday), dedicated to documenting the extraordinary contributions of new Olim (immigrants to Israel) during the “Swords of Iron” War. The site presents the personal stories of IDF soldiers who made Aliyah and fell in combat, as well as Olim civilians who were killed during the October 7 massacre. Each of them stands as a symbol of dedication, courage, and deep commitment to the State of Israel.

Lighting a candle, reading a Psalm, and performing a good deed in their memory
Visitors to the site can light a memorial candle, read chapters of Psalms, and pledge to perform a good deed in memory of the fallen. The project is ongoing, with new photos, videos, memory clips, and articles contributed by families to be added over time. In addition, the site highlights the stories of Olim who have served the state and its citizens in various ways since the outbreak of the war, demonstrating exceptional responsibility, sensitivity, and bravery.
Everyday heroism deserving of national recognition
Minister of Aliyah and Integration, MK Ofir Sofer, said: “In the horrific massacre of October 7 and the war that followed, many Olim fell—including fighters who made Aliyah to Israel with the dream of fulfilling the Zionist vision, enlisting in the IDF, and who, tragically, fell while defending the homeland. The purpose of this memorial project is to honor the memory of these heroic fallen and to tell the stories of Olim who made outstanding contributions to the war effort—whether on the battlefield, in community support, or in the fields of medicine, science, or the arts. This is a story of everyday heroism that deserves national recognition.”
