The U.S. Senate approved the nomination of former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee as the next American ambassador to Israel on Wednesday evening. The vote passed 53–46 along clear party lines—all Republicans voted in favor, with just one Democrat, Senator John Fetterman, joining them.

“Over 100 Visits to Israel”
Huckabee, an evangelical with strongly conservative views, is considered one of Israel’s most enthusiastic supporters in American politics. Over the years, he has expressed unwavering support for Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria and has visited Israel more than 100 times.
Sources close to Huckabee said that his deep familiarity with the Israeli political landscape will be a major advantage—especially amid the ongoing war and economic issues currently under discussion between the U.S. and Israel, including the topic of trade tariffs.
