IDF Arabic-language spokesperson Col. Avichay Adraee released a video message this evening (Tuesday) from his first visit to southern Syria.
“We have no intention of interfering in Syria’s internal affairs,” he stated in the video posted on his X account, “but we will not tolerate any threat to Israel’s security. We will respond immediately and decisively. We will not allow the presence of terrorists, armed groups, or extremists in this area.”

The message accompanied footage Adraee had shared earlier in the afternoon from a tour he conducted along the forward defensive security zone inside Syrian territory.

Soon We’ll See You in Southern Iraq
Adraee’s visit drew widespread attention from his Arab followers. One user commented on the post:
“This guy could end up in Damascus, drinking tea and smoking a hookah at the Al-Nofara café. But in truth, this is a message to Jamil Hassan and his worn-out gang — I’m here, and the man is getting closer. Long live Free Syria!”
(“Long live Free Syria” is a well-known slogan used by Syrian revolutionaries after liberation from the Assad regime.)

Another user wrote: “Soon we’ll see you in southern Iraq.”

According to Adraee, the IDF’s presence in the area strengthens Israel’s ability to respond rapidly to any security scenario that could arise from Syria’s internal instability.
