Abandoned monkey rescued thanks to alert officers
Just a week ago, police rescued an abandoned monkey that was found in distress near a medical facility in Rishon LeZion.
Officers from the Rishon LeZion police station were called to the scene after a report of the monkey in distress. They quickly located the animal and notified officials from the Israel Nature and Parks Authority as well as the city veterinarian.
The monkey was taken for initial treatment, and a veterinary exam revealed a long, infected wound along its left arm—likely the result of a previous poorly executed suture. The monkey has since been transferred to the Primate Sanctuary for continued medical care and rehabilitation.
