IDF Welcomes New Recruits Including Soldiers from the UAE, Armenia, and the Maldives

The recruitment of fighters for combat units for the March - April 2025 cycle has commenced, coinciding with ongoing fighting across various fronts. Thousands of recruits are expected to report to recruitment centers throughout the country in the coming weeks and begin their military service.

New Soldiers
The recruits, both men and women, will join the ranks of the IDF and will serve in significant combat roles in field units.

1,133 new immigrants will be conscripted in this recruitment wave. Among the new service members will be soldiers from the United Arab Emirates, El Salvador, Angola, Armenia, the Maldives, the Dominican Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Vietnam, Tunisia, Taiwan, Morocco, Norway, Nicaragua, Serbia, Portugal, Kiribati, Kenya, and Sweden.

The countries with the highest numbers of recruits remain the USA, Russia, and Ethiopia.

Recruitment Distribution through Various Offices:
In this current recruitment wave, new soldiers will join the IDF ranks through different recruitment offices across the country.

Recruitment is taking place amid ongoing fighting in various sectors
Recruitment plans have been adjusted to meet the needs of the military across all units and brigades to ensure continuous operational support in the ongoing fighting and to fulfill a range of IDF missions.

Recruitment in the Shadow of October 7
Six recruits will come from families of casualties from the events of October 7, and 393 recruits will be from communities near the Gaza Strip.

Training bases have been comprehensively prepared to receive and train the new recruits, with the Manpower Directorate (Meitav) set up to handle the sensitive needs of the enlistment candidates affected by the war, providing personal guidance and support.
