A moving Torah dedication ceremony was held today (Tuesday) in memory of Chief warrant officer Sivan Yanin, who fell during the Swords of Iron I war on October 7th. The ceremony took place at the Ar’ara police station, where Yanin served, and was attended by Negev District Commander Amir Klein, fellow officers, bereaved families, along with Yanin’s relatives.

Fought Bravely and Saved Many Lives
Sivan Yanin, who served in the Israel Police for 20 years, was the community police officer in the Abu Talul area at the time of his death. On October 7, during the fierce battle against Hamas terrorists at the Nova festival site in Re’im, he fought with extraordinary bravery and saved many lives. Alongside his fellow officers, he successfully blocked the terrorists from advancing deeper into the country, preventing an even greater catastrophe.

During the event, Yanin’s family was introduced to a special memorial wall built in his honor at the station. The wall features photographs he took as an avid lover of nature and culture, reflecting his deep love for the Land of Israel and its breathtaking landscapes.
