As part of a covert investigation that has been ongoing for the past few weeks in the Jerusalem District Police, a journalist residing in the Old City of Jerusalem was arrested yesterday (Sunday) on suspicion of serious incitement and support for terrorist organizations. The suspect published content on social media that glorified terrorists, praised terrorist organizations, and called for terrorist actions.

Quotes Encouraging Acts of Terror Against Jews
Among other things, she posted a video of Yahya Sinwar in which he said, “The greatest reward is to die and rise to the heavens as a martyr,” alongside the caption, “Wanted to die a martyr’s death.”

In another post, she added the image of the terrorist Iz Al-Din Al-Masalma, who carried out the attack at the tunnel crossing in December in which a 10-year-old boy traveling with his family on a bus from Jerusalem was killed. The suspect also published images from the funerals of terrorists, alongside quotes encouraging acts of terror and violence against Jews.

Arrest on Suspicion of Serious Incitement
After collecting the evidence, the police received legal approval and issued an arrest warrant. The suspect, a resident of the Old City in her thirties, was arrested at her home by Jerusalem District detectives and questioned about the offenses of identification with a terrorist organization and incitement to terrorism.

The police emphasize that there is a direct connection between incitement to terrorism and actual attacks, which is why they are actively monitoring inciting material on social media. “We will act to arrest and prosecute anyone who incites and supports terrorism,” they stated. Today, the suspect is expected to appear for a hearing to extend her detention in court.
