A report by the American news outlet ‘Jewish Insider’ states that the Trump administration has reassigned Adam Boehler from his role in handling the issue of hostages due to a series of controversial interviews he recently gave.
Harsh Criticism from Senior Republicans
Boehler, who served as President Donald Trump’s envoy for hostage affairs, caused an uproar when he publicly discussed direct engagements with Hamas. In an interview with CNN, he even remarked that “Hamas members are not monsters with horns.”

His comments were met with fierce criticism from senior Republican figures, who viewed them as undermining the U.S. position on Hamas. Some even stated that he had completely lost their trust.

“Met with Hamas and Called Them Nice”
Amid growing backlash in Congress, the White House reassured leaders in Jerusalem and pro-Israel lawmakers in Washington that Boehler would no longer be involved in handling hostage-related matters.
According to Republican sources, the decision to remove him from this role is not enough, and some are even considering pushing for his full dismissal. “I don’t understand how someone who comes out of a meeting with Hamas and calls them ‘nice’ can continue in this position,” said one Republican senator quoted in the report.
It is worth noting that Boehler is still awaiting Senate confirmation as Trump’s official nominee for the role, and it remains unclear how this controversy will impact his appointment process. The White House has declined to comment on the reports.
