IDF’s Continued Counterterrorism Operation in Samaria Brings Results

During the ongoing operation in Northern Samaria, explosives-laden vehicles were destroyed, a senior terrorist arrested and several other armed terrorists were eliminated, including one who opened fire on security forces.

Today (Tuesday), the Yamam counter-terrorism unit, the Duvdevan commando unit, the ISA (Shin Bet), and the Border Police operated in the Qabatiya and Jenin areas as part of the military operation to thwart terrorism in Northern Samaria. During the operation, several armed terrorists were eliminated, including one who opened fire on the forces, and ten additional terrorists were arrested, including a senior member of a local terror organization. Additionally, security forces destroyed two vehicles that were loaded with weapons and intended for use in attacks.

Yamam fighters operated in the Jenin area against terrorists who had fortified themselves in a building. After an exchange of fire, they eliminated two of the terrorists and hit another. Simultaneously, Duvdevan fighters eliminated another terrorist who shot at them. During the operation, ten terrorists were arrested, including a senior figure in the terror infrastructure in the area.

During the operation, after the forces located two vehicles in Jenin loaded with weapons that were intended for carrying out attacks, they destroyed them. All detainees and the confiscated weapons were transferred to authorities for further investigation, with security officials emphasizing that there were no casualties among IDF forces.

The operation continues as part of the extensive efforts by security forces to combat the increasing terrorist activity in northern Samaria, aimed at thwarting attacks and disrupting the infrastructure of armed organizations operating in the area.
