Ahead of Purim, Israeli police and the One Family organization launched a wide-reaching and emotional initiative, distributing 5,000 gift baskets to bereaved families throughout the country. The initiative aims to bring joy and light to those who have experienced loss and provide a sense of warmth and support during the holiday.
The initiative was born out of an understanding of the importance of a supportive community, especially during holiday periods when pain and longing intensify. Israeli police officers, along with volunteers from the organization, visited the homes of the families, met with family members, and delivered the gift baskets alongside words of support and encouragement.

A Partnership of Heart and Soul
The One Family organization supports bereaved families and victims of terror throughout the year, providing them with emotional, social, and financial assistance. This current project is part of an ongoing collaboration between the organization and the Israel Police, aimed at ensuring that every family that has experienced loss receives warm treatment and a sense of belonging.

The operation involved complex logistical arrangements, packaging thousands of gift baskets, and distributing them to families’ homes across the country. Representatives from the organization reported that not only the deliveries themselves, but also the personal interactions with the families made the operation especially moving.

Spreading Light and Hope
Both the Israel Police and the One Family organization emphasize that beyond distributing gift baskets, the central message is: “You are not alone.” This holiday season, bereaved families feel the warm embrace of Israeli society and the support that reaches their doorsteps.
“Every meeting with a bereaved family was an opportunity for us to convey a message of unity and love,” said representatives of the organization. “We are here to ensure that every family feels part of the larger family of the people of Israel, even in the most challenging times.”
