Leading the IDF to Victory
In his speech yesterday at the Chief of Staff changeover ceremony, Zamir declared: “The mission entrusted to me as of today is clear: to lead the IDF to victory. As written in Psalms, ‘I have pursued my enemies and overtaken them, never turning back until they were consumed.’ In full cooperation with all security forces, we will strike with immense force at anyone who seeks to harm the State of Israel and its citizens.”

The new IDF Chief also addressed the situation in the south: “I see restoring public trust in the IDF as an essential mission. The IDF will continue to thoroughly and courageously investigate itself. We will learn, draw conclusions, and grow. My fellow soldiers, citizens of Israel, difficult days still lie ahead, but I am confident that better days will follow.”

“We will not forgive and we will not forget. This is a war for our existence! We will continue the campaign to bring our hostages home and achieve decisive victory. I pledge that the IDF will continue to act with determination and professionalism until we achieve the goals we have set for ourselves.”
