Agam Berger, who was released from Hamas captivity in the hostage deal after 482 days, visited Joseph’s Tomb last night (between Sunday and Monday) along with her mother, Merav, Shomron Regional Council Head Yossi Dagan, and Rabbi Eliakim Levanon to express gratitude for her rescue and liberation from captivity and to pray for the return of the remaining hostages.
They Need Us Strong for Them
At the site, Agam said, “I want to thank all the soldiers. Take care of yourselves; you are true heroes, and do not forget anyone. They need us, they need our prayers. They need us strong for them.”
It feels like Joseph the Tzaddik invited us
Merav, Agam’s mother, spoke about the waiting period for her daughter’s return: “After October 7, there were two times when I almost made it to Joseph’s Tomb; we planned but it didn’t happen. Today it happened. It feels like Joseph the Tzaddik invited us, that it would happen together with Agam, to pray for the redemption of the people of Israel, and ‘I am requesting my brother’.”

This is Our Time to Return to Our Identity and Values
The mother emphasized the importance of the hostages’ return as a paramount national and moral Jewish mission. “October 7 was a time for personal and collective soul-searching. I came here to pray for our brothers to have the embrace of their families.”
“Agam missed her family very much during her captivity. Family is a sacred value; we need to return to our roots and see ourselves as family. May the hostages be blessed to come to this holy place, which belongs to us Jews, not in the dead of night. Agam was kidnapped as a Jew, and this is our time to return to our identity, to our values, and to act as Jews. Amen, may redemption come soon and in mercy,” she concluded.
