According to Palestinian sources, an Israeli Air Force aircraft carried out a strike this morning in the northern Gaza Strip. Reports indicate that there was one fatality and multiple injuries.
Shortly after the strike, the office of Prime Minister Netanyahu announced a decision to halt humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip until further notice, following the official conclusion of the ceasefire agreement.
In a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, it was emphasized that “with the conclusion of Phase 1 of the hostage deal and in light of Hamas’s refusal to accept the Witkoff framework for continuing negotiations, which Israel agreed to, Prime Minister Netanyahu has decided that starting this morning, all shipments of goods and supplies to the Gaza Strip will cease.”
Israel agrees to the American proposal for hostage release and a ceasefire
As a reminder, Netanyahu declared overnight that Israel will adopt the framework proposed by U.S. President’s envoy Steve Witkoff to extend Phase A of the ceasefire during the Ramadan and Passover holidays.
Shortly after the announcement, Hamas issued a statement rejecting the Witkoff framework and demanded the implementation of Phase B of the previous agreements. “We refuse the framework and demand the implementation of Phase B,” they stated in an official announcement. This refusal directly led to the cessation of humanitarian aid.
