After news of his release from the hospital spread, residents took to the streets and intersections to greet Omer upon his return home.

Beginning His Rehabilitation
Omer will now begin a rehabilitation process at the Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva (Beilinson) . A hospital spokesperson stated: “Beilinson Hospital will continue to support Omer and his family, ensuring they receive all necessary care.”
“Blessed Be the One Who Gave Me Life and Brought Me to This Moment”
Last week, Omer Shem Tov shared an emotional Instagram post alongside a photo of himself putting on tefillin, reflecting on his experience in captivity.
“Blessed be the One who gave me life and brought me to this moment,” he wrote. “God, thank You for being with me every single moment.”
He paid tribute to Ori Danino, who rushed into danger on October 7 to save him together with the siblings Maya and Itai Regev. Danino survived 11 months in captivity before being murdered by Hamas.
“Amidst the chaos, he appeared like an angel, without hesitation. Ori, , I am here because of you. I have no words to thank you. May your memory be a blessing,” Omer wrote.
“I Heard You Fighting for Us”
Omer also addressed IDF soldiers directly: “I was there. I heard you fighting—fighting for us, doing everything to bring us home. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. May the memory of all the fallen heroes be blessed. There is no nation like the people of Israel! I saw you fighting for us, and that gave me the strength to believe I would come home. I felt your prayers, and even in the darkness, I had light.”
He concluded his message with a heartfelt call to action:
“Now I am here to be a voice for those still there—it is our duty to bring them home, the living for rehabilitation and the fallen for burial. I love each and every one of you! Am Yisrael Chai!”
