A moving memorial ceremony was held yesterday (Monday) at the UN headquarters in New York in memory of Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir Bibas, as well as Oded Lifshitz. The event was initiated by Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, and was attended by dozens of ambassadors from around the world. The ceremony included speeches, a moment of silence, and signing a condolence book. For the first time since October 7, former hostage Noa Argamani will brief the UN Security Council in an official session at Danon’s invitation.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Danon spoke about the international community’s silence in the face of Hamas’s crimes.
“When Hamas kidnapped a mother and her two children, when they took Israeli babies as trophies, when they violated agreements in the most brutal way—the UN remained silent. There was no condemnation, no call for justice. Silence is support for terror and the pure evil of Hamas,” he said.

Danon also emphasized Israel’s commitment to honoring the victims:
“Israel will not remain silent. We will continue to say their names—Kfir, Ariel, Shiri, and Oded. We will ensure their memory lives on forever. We will make Hamas pay. We will not stop until everyone comes home.”
Argentine’s Tropepi: “Silence Is Collaboration with Evil”
Argentina’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Francisco Tropepi, joined the call for action, stating:
“We cannot forget what happened. October 7 was not just another attack in a long conflict—it was an unprecedented atrocity. In the face of such evil, we cannot afford silence, because silence is collaboration.”
Tropepi also shared his experience visiting the kibbutzim attacked in the terror onslaught:
“I saw, on one side, the purest form of life, and on the other—the most brutal manifestation of pure evil. It is our duty to preserve the memory of the victims and tell their story. May their memory be a blessing.”
Israel Demands Action, the UN Remains Silent
The ceremony took place against the backdrop of growing criticism of the international community, which continues to remain silent in the face of Hamas’s crimes while dedicating countless discussions to Israel. The participation of dozens of ambassadors in the event is evidence of a growing desire to end the global silence and seek justice against those responsible for the massacre.

This was made possible through efforts by Ambassador Danon, the Israeli UN delegation, and the U.S. delegation to the UN .
