During a special visit to Samaria, Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana toured the region alongside Samaria Regional Council Chairman Yossi Dagan.
The visit included a stop at a scenic lookout point in the Barkan settlement, providing a panoramic view of Israel’s central cities, including Tel Aviv, Kfar Saba, and Ben Gurion Airport. From this vantage point, both leaders underscored the importance of applying Israeli sovereignty over the region.
Hearing “Out-of-the-box” Ideas from President Trump – Looking forward to his Visit
Ohana emphasized the strategic significance of the region, noting that from Barkan one can see how close these buildings are to central Israel. He stated that on October 7, not only were Israeli citizens murdered, but also the concept known as the ‘two-state solution’ came to its end. These lands belong to us, to the people of Israel, and must be fully under Israeli sovereignty.

Ohana also highlighted the new and “out-of-the-box” ideas emerging from the White House under President Trump, calling him “Israel’s greatest friend” in Washington, inviting him to come to Israel. He expressed hope that with God’s help, Trump would bring good news of peace through strength, flourishing settlement and building – the only path to peace, according to Ohana.

“Now Is the Time to Apply Sovereignty Over Judea and Samaria”
Samaria Regional Council Chairman Yossi Dagan underscored the historical and strategic necessity of applying Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria, asserting that Jews reside in Samaria because it is the heart of their ancestral homeland. Beyond the deep historical ties to the region, he emphasized its critical role as Israel’s defensive shield, extending far beyond Samaria itself to include Judea, Binyamin, Gush Etzion, and even Jerusalem.
Dagan joined Ohana’s call and issued an appeal to Israel’s government leaders, particularly Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, asking to apply sovereignty to Judea and Samaria without delay.
