Despite Arabs Nations’ Disapproval, Trump Asserts: “‘I’m Confident They Will Do It'”

Amid strong efforts by the President of the United States to relocate Gaza residents to neighboring countries, several Arab nations announced they strongly oppose the evacuation of the residents.

As President Donald Trump continues to advance his plan to transfer Gaza residents to neighboring countries and enable the rehabilitation of the Strip, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Jordan announced today (Saturday) that they oppose the evacuation of Gazans. Yet despite these countries’ resistance, Trump is still pushing forward.

In a disapproving statement, the foreign ministers of these countries declared: “We oppose any violation of Palestinian rights, whether through land annexation or the uprooting of Palestinians from their land.”

Trump is Not Backing Down
During a press conference held earlier at the White House, Trump was asked whether he still believes it’s a good idea for Jordan and Egypt to absorb Palestinians despite their opposition to the idea.

Trump responded: “I believe Jordan will take in people from Gaza, and I think Egypt will take them in as well. I heard someone say they do not intend to do this, but I believe they will. I am confident they will do it.”

Trump Asked by Media About the Issue:

“They Will Do It”
Earlier this week on Thursday, the President of the United States made it clear that despite Egypt and Jordan’s refusal, he is convinced that these countries will take in Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.

Trump addressed the issue during a White House press conference, confidently asserting that both countries would comply with his plan. “They will do it. We do a lot for them, and they will do it,” the president said in response to a question about the refusal of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Jordanian King Abdullah II.

Determining both the future of Gaza and regional stability, Trump’s plan and its political ramifications are set to unfold in the region over the coming months.
