Israel announced today that it would not meet the planned withdrawal deadline from Lebanon, originally set for the end of the first 60 days of the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah. The delay is attributed to Lebanon’s failure to fully enforce the terms of the ceasefire. Israel emphasized that the withdrawal process will continue in full coordination with the United States.
The Prime Minister’s Office released a statement saying, “The State of Israel will not endanger its citizens and towns. We will insist on the full implementation of the objectives of the northern campaign—ensuring the safe return of residents to their homes.”

Lebanese media reported last night that thousands of displaced residents from southern Lebanese villages are organizing a march back to their homes this morning. In response, IDF Arabic-language spokesperson Avichay Adraee issued a warning to Lebanese residents, stating that returning south of the village line remains prohibited at this stage: “Anyone moving south of this line is putting themselves at risk.”
Ongoing Operations in Southern Lebanon
Last week, a large-scale operation was conducted in southern Lebanon, during which Israeli forces uncovered and destroyed significant Hezbollah infrastructure. These facilities were prepared to threaten Israeli cities and compromise civilian safety.

Destruction of Tunnels and Weapons Depots
Paratroopers uncovered underground tunnels in the Saluki region that were used as preparation and staging areas for Hezbollah fighters. The tunnels were carefully examined in collaboration with the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit and brigade engineers, then destroyed in controlled explosions.

In addition, massive weapons stockpiles were discovered inside a mosque and in a nearby vehicle. These included hundreds of mortar shells, explosives, rockets, and other weapons.
Golani Brigade fighters also uncovered trucks loaded with rocket launchers and warehouses filled with advanced weaponry, including rockets, shoulder-fired missiles, and explosives intended for use in attacks against Israeli civilians. The weapons were confiscated, and the warehouses were destroyed to prevent future use by Hezbollah.
The IDF emphasized that all operations are conducted with precision and professionalism, involving full coordination between ground forces, engineering units, and intelligence teams to ensure the safety and security of Israeli citizens.
