French President to Honor Israeli Leader with Prestigious Knighthood

Israeli Vice Chairman Sam Pinto will be awarded the 'Knight of the Legion of Honor' title by French President Emmanuel Macron.

Sam Pinto, the Chairman of Kol Israel Haverim and Vice Chairman of the Mikveh Israel Board of Directors, is set to be recieve the ‘Knight of the Legion of Honor’ title from French President Emmanuel Macron. This prestigious honor is the highest decoration granted by France to individuals who have made significant contributions to the country itself, or the values it represents.

Sam Pinto is being recognized by the French Republic for his significant and long-standing contributions to the advancement of the French language and culture in Israel. In his roles as Chairman of Kol Israel Haverim and Vice Chairman of the Mikveh Israel Board of Directors, Pinto has made extensive efforts to both deepen educational and cultural ties and expand collaborations between Israel and France.

A statement released by Mikveh Israel stated: “The Mikveh Israel Agricultural School is proud of Mr. Sam (Shmuel) Pinto, Chairman of Kol Israel Haverim and Vice Chairman of the Mikveh Israel Board of Directors, for being awarded the title of ‘Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honor’ by the French Republic.”

Zeev Bielski, Chairman of the Mikveh Israel Board of Directors, said: “We at Mikveh Israel congratulate Sam Pinto on receiving the knighthood from the French government and are proud of the international recognition of his long-standing contributions to strengthening ties between Israel and France. Sam Pinto’s contributions to Mikveh Israel and the entire community are immense, and we wish him many more years of important and blessed work.”
