Evyatar served as a reservist in Battalion 8211 and was recognized as a respected and skilled soldier. He had been on reserve duty since the events of October 7. The village of Tammun, located in the Jordan Valley, is known as a hotspot for armed militants. In recent weeks, the IDF has intensified operations in villages throughout the area to prevent the smuggling of weapons and explosives across the eastern border, which could destabilize the West Bank.
Ongoing Investigation
The IDF is currently investigating the incident, the details of which remain under a publication ban. Battalion 8211, under the command of the injured officer, has been actively engaged in multiple operations across the West Bank since the beginning of the war, with a focus on northern Samaria.
