Following a government meeting that continued into Shabbat, the deal for the release of hostages was approved by a majority of 24 ministers against 8 opponents. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will deliver a statement to the media this evening (Saturday) at 8:10 PM.
As part of the agreement, revealed by Qatar, the ceasefire is expected to take effect tomorrow at 8:30 AM. The vote saw support from Likud ministers (except for David Amsalem and Amichai Chikli), along with members of United Torah Judaism, Shas, and National Unity. In contrast, ministers from Otzma Yehudit and HaTzionut HaDatit opposed the move.
