Over the weekend (Friday), the IDF conducted unprecedented airstrikes in Yemen as part of a joint operation by the Air Force, Intelligence Directorate, and the Navy. The strikes targeted strategic infrastructure used by the Houthis for their military operations, in response to a series of attacks on Israel including the launch of unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles toward Israeli territory.
Deep Strikes in Yemen – Terror Infrastructure Destroyed
As part of the strikes, the Haziz power station was targeted – a key source of electricity for Houthi military operations. The Air Force also struck critical ports used by the Houthi regime for military purposes, such as Ras Issa and Hodeidah. These strikes coincided with operations by American and British forces, sending a clear message against terrorism in the region.
The IDF emphasized how these strikes highlight the Houthis exploitation of civilian infrastructure for the advancement of terrorism, jeopardizing regional stability and disrupting global maritime freedom. The IDF also released official footage showcasing F-16 jets in action during the operation, including aerial refueling moments performed by a Boeing 707 from the “Desert Giants” squadron.

The Houthis: An Iranian Proxy
Actively supported by Iran, the Houthi regime poses a direct threat to Israel and spearheads regional terror activities. Their operations include repeated attempts to attack Israeli civilians and harm critical infrastructure.
The IDF reiterated that Israel has the right to defend itself and will act decisively against any threat, regardless of its distance. This operation underscores the IDF’s commitment to regional stability and its resolve to counter threats from Iran and its proxies.
