Security forces destroyed the apartment of the terrorist Muhammad Abu Yasin, who participated in the attack in which Staff Sergeant Elhanan Ariel Klein z”l was killed and four police officers were injured.
IDF forces, along with the Shin Bet and Border Police, operated last night (between Wednesday and Thursday) in the village of Balaa, in the Menashe Brigade, and demolished the apartment of the terrorist Muhammad Abu Yasin, who was involved in the attack that led to the death of Staff Sergeant (Res.) Elhanan Ariel Klein z”l and the injuries of four Border Police fighters.
A month ago, Abu Yasin and other terrorists fired at a vehicle in which Elhanan Klein (29) was traveling, returning from reserve duty while in uniform, with his wife. Klein had received a special commendation in May 2022 from the then-commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, Avi Bluth, for eliminating a terrorist who was throwing stones near the Beit El junction, before being killed by the gunfire.
Elimination of the Terrorists
Months ago, during a joint operation by the Yamam (special police unit) and the IDF, supported by intelligence from the Shin Bet, in the town of Deir al-Ghusun near Tulkarm, the terrorists who carried out the attack in which Elhanan was killed were neutralized. During the operation, undercover forces entered the Palestinian city and besieged a building where a terrorist cell was holed up, using the ‘pressure cooker’ procedure (which included fire from drones, anti-tank missile fire, and bulldozer assistance) during a 13-hour battle. Five terrorists were eliminated, all affiliated with Hamas, including Ala’a Sharita, the commander of Hamas’s military wing in the Tulkarm area. Another terrorist surrendered to the IDF.
