The Ministry of Defense and the IDF announced the completion of the first phase of the ‘Meshiv HaRuach’ program, under which 97 readiness units, squads, and companies in the northern border communities were re-equipped. The program covers communities in the regional councils of Upper Galilee, Ma’ale Yosef, Mevo’ot Hermon, Merom HaGalil, and Mateh Asher, as well as the cities of Nahariya, Kiryat Shmona, and Ma’alot-Tarshiha, and local councils such as Metula, Shlomi, Hurfeish, Fassuta, Kfar Vradim, and more.<\/p>\n
As part of the program, each community received a full kit that includes combat and rescue equipment, medical supplies, uniforms, protective gear, and more. Now, phase B of the program is being implemented, which will include completing the necessary equipment for communities in the Golan Heights. In total, approximately 120 readiness units are expected to be re-equipped in northern Israel.<\/p>\n
As part of the equipment plan, the Director-General of the Ministry of Defense, Maj. Gen. (Res.) Eyal Zamir, signed an order for the extensive procurement of more than 9,000 ‘Arad’ rifles, an advanced assault rifle developed and produced in Israel.
