Yedidya Boscovich, a soldier in the Netzach Yehuda Battalion, posted on his X account about the harrowing incident in northern Gaza overnight (Monday to Tuesday) and the comrades who fell alongside him.<\/p>\n

“We Won\u2019t Break\u2014We will Carry on at Full Strength”
\n<\/strong>“It was a terrible night\u2014evacuation under heavy fire, my friends killed, I was injured by shrapnel,” Boscovich wrote. With immense emotional strength, he added: “We won\u2019t break. We will carry on at full strength in the fight against evil and the terrorists.”<\/p>\n

“Netzach Yehuda is a battalion of heroes. May the memory of my friends be blessed,” he concluded.<\/p>\n

The Deadly Incident in Northern Gaza
\n<\/strong>The IDF Spokesperson confirmed this morning (Wednesday) that five soldiers were killed in the battle in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza. Four of them were from the Netzach Yehuda Battalion (97), Kfir Brigade: Staff Sergeant Meir Shimon Amar, Sergeant Moshe Nissim Perash, Staff Sergeant Noam Aharon Masgedian, and Staff Sergeant Moshe Shmuel Nol. Also killed was Binyamin Assouline, 28, from Haifa, a soldier in the Northern Brigade.<\/p>\n

In addition, 14 soldiers were wounded, two of them seriously. They were evacuated for medical treatment, and their families have been informed.<\/p>\n

The Netzach Yehuda Battalion had entered northern Gaza a few days ago as part of a renewed maneuver in a battalion combat team. The battalion has extensive experience with ground operations throughout the war, especially in the northern part of Gaza, where it has recorded numerous achievements against Hamas\u2014though not without losses of soldiers and commanders in past operations.<\/p>\n

The IED Explosion
\n<\/strong>The incident began shortly after 10:00 p.m. last night, when a force from the 97th “Netzach Yehuda” Battalion\u2014the IDF’s first Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) battalion\u2014was advancing on foot as part of the attack. Two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted along the path exploded in succession on the advancing soldiers. According to the IDF, this area had been heavily targeted in recent weeks with aerial “softening” strikes ahead of the operation. The two explosives detonated at the exact moment the force passed. Initial assessments indicate a remote-detonation mechanism was used from an ambush.<\/p>\n

Gunfire on Rescue Forces
\n<\/strong>While evacuating the wounded, terrorists opened fire from an ambush on the rescue teams. Additional casualties were sustained, and the evacuation became prolonged and complex. Reinforcements were dispatched to extract all the wounded.<\/p>\n

In total, five soldiers were killed in the incident\u2014most from Netzach Yehuda. Fourteen were injured: two seriously, six moderately, and six lightly. All were evacuated to hospitals for treatment.<\/p>\n

“Thank You for Who You Were”
\n<\/strong>Boscovich eulogized his friends: “Meir, my dear brother. I can\u2019t believe I\u2019m eulogizing you\u2014just yesterday we were sitting and laughing. I miss you already. From now on, I\u2019ll miss even our arguments. May God avenge your blood,” he wrote of Staff Sergeant Meir Shimon Amar.<\/p>\n

“Noam, my dear brother, our legendary platoon sergeant\u2014who would have believed we\u2019d one day have to speak of you in the past tense? But in this surreal reality, anything can happen. I miss you, my big brother. Thank you for who you were to me. May God avenge your blood,” he wrote of Staff Sergeant Noam Aharon Musgedian.<\/p>\n

Boscovich also mourned Staff Sergeant Moshe Shmuel Noll: “Moishy, I can’t, I just can\u2019t believe this. I can\u2019t even speak of you in the past tense. You\u2019ll forever be in my heart. May God avenge your blood,” he shared.<\/p>\n
