A total of 232 passengers and 12 crew members were on board. Shortly afterward, the flight crew transmitted a distress signal to the control tower. Moments later, all communication with the aircraft was lost.<\/p>\n<p>The plane crashed into a residential neighborhood near the airport. Local media reported that it struck a building that serves as a doctors\u2019 residence. Injured individuals were seen being evacuated by ambulance and stretcher, though there has not yet been official confirmation on the number of casualties.<\/p>\n<p>Boeing, the aircraft manufacturer, stated that it is aware of the reports and is investigating the incident. Following news of the crash, Boeing\u2019s stock fell by 6.8%.
