Amid the crisis surrounding the military draft law, a statement released this morning (Wednesday) from the home of Rabbi Dov Landau, spiritual leader of Degel HaTorah, announced that he had instructed his party\u2019s Knesset members to advance a move to dissolve the Knesset. The initiative is expected to be launched next Wednesday.<\/p>\n

W<\/strong>e\u2019d vote in favor <\/strong>to dissolve the Knesset today
\n<\/strong>Following Rabbi Landau\u2019s directive, opposition parties Yesh Atid, Yisrael Beitenu, and Labor also announced their intent to submit bills to dissolve the Knesset next week. Representatives of the ultra-Orthodox parties stated: \u201cIf there were a bill to dissolve the Knesset on today\u2019s agenda \u2013 we would already be voting in favor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now is the time to set aside differences<\/strong>
\nSenior officials in the Likud party believe that the Knesset is on a path toward dissolution, and that the country is heading toward elections. According to their assessment, elections are expected to take place by late October 2025, or at the latest between March and April 2026.<\/p>\n

The party is working to prevent the move. Minister of Culture and Sports Miki Zohar said in response: \u201cWhen Israel is facing multi-front warfare, our soldiers are falling in battle, and our brothers and sisters remain captive in Hamas hands, the last thing this country needs is a divisive election campaign that will deepen internal rifts and further divide Israeli society.\u201d<\/p>\n
