A rare event in the Knesset: 67 Members of Knesset from all factions signed a letter today (Thursday) expressing support and solidarity with Jewish communities in the Diaspora, following the antisemitic attack in Washington in which two civilians were murdered.
\nThe initiative was led by Likud MK Dan Illouz, who authored the letter under the title: “T<\/em>o our brothers and sisters in the Diaspora\u2014with love, with pain, and with unwavering mutual responsibility.”<\/p>\n

\u201cAntisemitism isn\u2019t stopping\u2014and neither are we\u201d<\/strong>
\nIn the letter, the MKs stressed that the attack in Washington was not an isolated incident, but part of a growing wave of antisemitism since October 7: \u201cIt is spreading on campuses, in the streets, on social media, and throughout the public space,\u201d they wrote.<\/p>\n

Alongside this warning, the letter also included a heartfelt message of gratitude to Jewish communities worldwide for their support of Israel:
\n\u201cYou marched, you donated, you fought for the truth\u2014and you reminded us that Am Yisrael is one people.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cStanding together\u2014Am Yisrael Chai\u201d<\/strong>
\nThe MKs also shared a message of unity: \u201cWe are one family\u2014bound by destiny, rooted in history, and entrusted with a mission to build a future of strength and dignity\u2014together.\u201d<\/p>\n

The letter concluded with a cross-border declaration: \u201cFrom Jerusalem to Washington, from Tel Aviv to Toronto\u2014we stand together. With love and with pride: Am Yisrael Chai.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAs one people with one heart\u201d<\/strong>
\nMK Illouz, who initiated the letter, stated: \u201cWhen Jews are hated, no one asks what political camp they belong to. The hatred targets the entire Jewish people\u2014and so our response must be as one people with one heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that the broad show of support is proof that in times of crisis, the Jewish people know how to stand united.<\/p>\n
