In the dead of night, the Israeli government approved the establishment of 22 new communities throughout Judea, Samaria, Binyamin, and the Jordan Valley. The decision was reported earlier today (Tuesday).<\/p>\n

Homesh, Sa-Nur, Tubas and Kedem Arava<\/strong>
\nAmong the communities granted approval are Homesh and Sa-Nur\u2014two settlements in northern Samaria that were evacuated as part of the 2005 Disengagement Plan. This was reported by journalist Hanan Greenwood. While Sa-Nur was included in the law repealing the disengagement, it has not yet received full authorization for resettlement\u2014due in part to security considerations.<\/p>\n

Other newly approved communities include Mount Ebal in Samaria and Ma’alot Halhul, located between Karmei Tzur and Kiryat Arba.<\/p>\n

Five Communities Approved in the Jordan Valley<\/strong>
\nFive settlements were approved in the Jordan Valley: Camp Gadi, which is already an established community, and four others\u2014Ir Hatmarim (City of Dates), Geva’onit, Tubas, and Kedem Arava\u2014which have not yet been built. Some of these approvals may be part of a broader policy aimed at strengthening Israel\u2019s presence along its eastern border, including through the establishment of Nahal and national mission groups.<\/p>\n

    \nChairman of the Yesha Council and head of the Binyamin Regional Council, Yisrael Gantz, welcomed the decision:
    \n\u201cThis is an unprecedented development. The decision sends a clear message\u2014we are here to strengthen the State of Israel for all its citizens and to bolster its security.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Letter from Regional Council Heads: Sovereignty or a Terror State<\/strong>
    \nThe heads of regional councils in the Yesha Council sent a letter this evening to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling for the application of Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria.<\/p>\n

    Yesterday, it was reported that Israel had conveyed a message that applying sovereignty would serve as a response to recognition of a Palestinian state. The council heads wrote in their letter:
    \n\u201cSovereignty is not a diplomatic response but an immediate necessity. It is not a \u2018diplomatic punishment\u2019 but a top-priority security need.<\/p>\n

    \u201cSince the Six-Day War, the regions of Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley have become an inseparable part of the national, settlement, and security fabric of the State of Israel. Over half a million Israeli citizens contribute in extraordinary ways to society. They bear the security burden and lead in impressive mobilization even during wartime. It is unacceptable that they live under a separate legal system, as though they are not equal citizens in their own country.\u201d<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    They added that after the events of October 7, there is only one option:
    \n\u201cThe political and security decision has never been clearer\u2014either Israeli sovereignty or an Arab terror state in the heart of the country. There is no vacuum; in the absence of an Israeli decision, international pressure will only continue to grow,\u201d they concluded.<\/p>\n
