The aerial revolution is approaching: Israel is preparing to quite literally take off into a new era of transportation. The Ministry of Transport, the Israel Innovation Authority, the Civil Aviation Authority, and Ayalon Highways\u00a0have launched a new phase in the country\u2019s National Drone Initiative\u2014its third official call for proposals.<\/p>\n

The goal of the initiative is to promote smart, green, and advanced transportation and to position Israel as a global hub in the field of drones and UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles).<\/p>\n

Innovation and the Future\u2014In the Air<\/strong>
This latest call continues the momentum of the previous two phases, which saw over 25,000 trial flights, the establishment of infrastructure for urban traffic management (UTM), and wide-ranging collaborations\u2014from government agencies to startups and the defense sector. A new operational model has also been developed to manage drone networks, integrating advanced systems for communication, autonomy, and safety.<\/p>\n

The Government Vision Takes Flight<\/strong>
Minister of Transport Miri Regev emphasized the forward-looking vision: “Those who don\u2019t keep pace will be left behind. Alongside the success of vehicle technologies, we are now conquering Israel\u2019s skies and creating an optimal environment for research, development, and local high-tech.”
Moshe Ben Zaken, Director-General of the Ministry of Transport, added: “This initiative proves the strength of focused cooperation\u2014across air, land, and sea.”<\/p>\n

A Solution to Traffic Congestion?<\/strong>
Israel Innovation Authority CEO Dror Bin envisions a near future filled with real solutions: smart drones for package delivery, infrastructure monitoring, and even air taxis for medical evacuation. “The day is not far off when the sky will be an integral part of urban transportation. Israel is ready to lead the change.”<\/p>\n
