In a powerful act of protest and mourning, the family of Tzeela Gaz\u2014murdered in last week\u2019s terrorist shooting near Bruchin\u2014has announced that they will relocate their traditional shivah<\/em> (seven-day mourning period) from their home to the site of the attack. The move is aimed at protesting what they call \u201ca policy of restraint\u201d by the Israeli government in Judea and Samaria.<\/p>\n

The family plans to arrive at the site at 5:00 PM (IST) today.<\/p>\n

A Mourning Protest: \u201cEnough with Containment\u201d<\/strong>
\nThe Gez family\u2019s decision reflects growing criticism over Israeli security policy in the West Bank, particularly what some perceive as leniency toward hostile activity in Palestinian areas. In their statement, the family demanded more aggressive military action\u2014specifically calling for a ground maneuver in the Palestinian village of Bruchin, similar to recent operations in Jenin and Tulkarm.<\/p>\n

They argue that Israeli policy too often prioritizes Palestinian quality of life over the security of Israeli citizens.<\/p>\n

Husband\u2019s Public Call: \u201cCome Sit With Us\u201d<\/strong>
\nChananel Gez, Tzeela\u2019s husband, who was lightly wounded in the same attack that took her life, made an emotional appeal to the Israeli public: \u201cMy dear brothers and sisters, thank you for all the support and love we\u2019ve received. We feel the embrace of the entire people of Israel during these difficult days.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chananel urged people to join the family at the scene of the attack in solidarity: \u201cToday, we take an unusual step. Our whole family will sit shivah at the spot where my beloved wife was murdered. I call on all of Israel\u2014everyone\u2014to come and sit with us. To stand with us in protest against how easily a life can be taken.\u201d<\/p>\n
