The Defense Minister\u2019s Shield is awarded to organizations that promote the values of military reserve service as a vital contribution to Israeli society and national security\u2014while protecting reservists\u2019 rights, building robust support systems, and honoring their commitment. This week, Afeka Academic College of Engineering received the award for its outstanding support of students and staff serving in the IDF reserves.<\/p>\n

42% of Students Called to Duty<\/strong>
\nMore than 42% of Afeka\u2019s students were called up for reserve duty during the war. Faculty, lecturers, and staff also took part in the national effort. Despite this dual challenge, Afeka maintained academic continuity and provided comprehensive support\u2014academically, administratively, financially, and emotionally.<\/p>\n
