The intent is to show terrorists\u2014particularly Nukhba operatives who took part in the October 7 massacre\u2014the scale of the consequences their actions brought upon Gaza\u2019s residents. This was revealed by Northern District Commander Commissioner Shmulik Lavi in an interview with <em>Israel Hayom<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;These images will be burned into their memory&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\nThe images include photos of devastated neighborhoods, the ruins of civilian buildings, and other scenes showing the impact of the fighting on Gaza\u2019s population. \u201cThis is a psychological move meant to drive home, in no uncertain terms, the consequences of October 7,\u201d said Lavi. \u201cWe don\u2019t kid ourselves into thinking it will spark any sense of responsibility or remorse. But these images\u2014showing what happens to the enemies of Israel\u2014will be burned into their memory.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shattering the \u2018Hero\u2019 Illusion<\/strong><br \/>\nAccording to Lavi, the IPS views this move as part of a broader strategy to break down the \u201chero\u201d persona and weaken identification with terrorist organizations among security prisoners.
