In a distressing video published today (Saturday) by Hamas, hostage Elkana Bohbot, 34, from Mevaseret Zion, is seen tearfully and emotionally addressing his wife and young son. This marks the third time in a month that a video of Bohbot has been released. The footage was shared with the approval of his family. RegaNews is not publishing the video itself, which is part of Hamas\u2019s ongoing psychological warfare.<\/p>\n

“My amazing wife, don\u2019t stop”<\/strong>
\nHolding a phone in his hand, Elkana addresses his wife Rivka:
\n“My amazing wife. How are you? I want you to know that I dream about you every single day, every single hour. I see you in my hallucinations, I see you in my dreams\u2014you and our Re\u2019em David. I see you all the time.”
\nHe ends with a plea:
\n“Keep doing everything for me. Don\u2019t stop.”<\/p>\n

“The complete opposite of freedom”<\/strong>
\nElkana\u2019s family said they are deeply shaken by the latest video. In their words:
\n“At the end of Passover, the only thing we\u2019re experiencing is the complete opposite of freedom.”
\nThey also expressed their concern for his well-being:
\n“We are worried about Elkana\u2019s physical and mental condition.”<\/p>\n

“I feel like the army cares more than the government”<\/strong>
\nLater in the Hamas video, Elkana describes his deteriorating mental state:
\n“I don\u2019t have the strength anymore. I\u2019m afraid to die.”
\nHe recounts reaching out to every authority he could:
\n“I turned to the state, to the government, to the Histadrut, to everyone. Even to the army\u2014I heard they\u2019re signing letters to stop the war and get us out. That\u2019s good, they should keep doing it. I feel like they care more about the citizens than the government does.”<\/p>\n

Elkana, who suffers from asthma, was involved in organizing the Nova Festival from which he was abducted. He has been held captive by Hamas ever since.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
