The C-5M Super Galaxy, the largest military transport aircraft in the U.S. Air Force, landed this morning (Saturday) at Nevatim Airbase in southern Israel. The aircraft is one of the most powerful and impressive of its kind, capable of transporting massive and unusually heavy equipment\u2014such as tanks, helicopters, bridge components, and more.<\/p>\n

Why Now \u2014 and Why in Israel?<\/strong>
\nThe landing, which was observed by open-source intelligence (OSINT) trackers, has raised many questions. While neither the IDF nor the U.S. military has issued an official statement, experts suggest it may be related to logistical coordination, a joint military exercise, or possibly broader strategic planning in the region.<\/p>\n

A Closer Look at the Flying Whale<\/strong>
\nThe C-5M is an upgraded version of the original C-5, which first entered service in the 1970s. The modern version includes new engines, advanced systems, and the ability to fly long distances while carrying extremely large payloads.<\/p>\n

Nicknamed the \u201cFlying Whale,\u201d the aircraft can carry up to 130 tons and reach a takeoff weight of nearly 400 tons. It can transport up to six armored vehicles or five helicopters.<\/p>\n

The aircraft\u2019s landing drew not only military curiosity but also sparked a media stir after Channel 12 journalist Doron Kadosh revealed that military censors had prevented him from publishing the story\u2014even after it had already appeared online and in open sources worldwide.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
