The strike, coordinated by Israel\u2019s Northern Command and Military Intelligence Directorate, aimed to eliminate an immediate threat along Israel\u2019s northern border. Farhat was behind the February 14 rocket attack on the northern Israeli city of Safed, which killed IDF soldier Staff Sergeant Omer Sara Banjo and wounded several others.<\/p>\n

According to the IDF Spokesperson, Farhat had continued developing Hamas\u2019s operational infrastructure in Lebanon and was considered a persistent and direct threat to Israeli security. His elimination is seen as a significant blow to Hamas\u2019s presence in Lebanon.<\/p>\n

IDF Expands Ground Operations in Gaza\u2019s Shuja\u2019iyya Neighborhood<\/strong>
\nIn parallel with the northern airstrike, the IDF also launched a ground maneuver this morning in the Shuja\u2019iyya neighborhood of northern Gaza. According to the IDF, troops have already eliminated several terrorists and destroyed Hamas terror infrastructure, including a command and control compound used to orchestrate attacks.<\/p>\n
