Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the latest IDF operations in Gaza on Wednesday night, confirming that Israel has escalated its military campaign. \u201cTonight in Gaza, we shifted gears. The IDF is taking ground, striking terrorists, and destroying infrastructure,\u201d he declared.<\/p>\n

A New Philadelphi Corridor
\n<\/strong>At the center of Netanyahu\u2019s remarks was a new strategic axis the IDF is working to secure\u2014known as the Morag Route. \u201cWe are doing something additional\u2014we are taking the Morag Corridor. This will be the second Philadelphi, the additional Philadelphi Route,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>\n

Netanyahu Stresses Strategy of Gaza Partitioning
\n<\/strong>\u201cWe are now segmenting the Gaza Strip,\u201d Netanyahu continued. \u201cWe are steadily increasing the pressure, step by step, until they return our hostages. The more they refuse, the greater the pressure will become\u2014until they give in.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are determined to achieve the war\u2019s objectives,\u201d he added. \u201cWe are acting tirelessly, with a clear direction and a clear mission. And with God\u2019s help, and with the help of our heroic soldiers\u2014we will achieve it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Strategic Importance of the Morag Route
\n<\/strong>The Morag Route is a key roadway in southern Gaza, separating Khan Younis from Rafah. It is named after the former Israeli community of Morag, which was located in the area during the Gush Katif era. Securing this corridor enables Israel to effectively split the southern part of the Gaza Strip, restricting the movement of Hamas forces between two major strongholds.<\/p>\n

Netanyahu referred to this route as \u201cPhiladelphi B,\u201d in reference to the original Philadelphi Route\u2014a strategic military road running along the Gaza-Egypt border, once used extensively for weapons smuggling through tunnels. Gaining control of both the Morag and Philadelphi corridors gives the IDF a significant tactical advantage and bolsters Israel\u2019s leverage against Hamas\u2014both militarily and in negotiations for the return of hostages.<\/p>\n

IDF Chief of Staff: \u201cOnly the Release of the Hostages Will Stop Us\u201d<\/strong>
\nIDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir and ISA (Shin Bet) Director Ronen Bar conducted a field tour and strategic assessment today with division commanders in the Tel al-Sultan area of the Gaza Strip. During the visit, Zamir emphasized:
\n\u201cIDF forces, led by Southern Command, are expanding the offensive in Operation \u2018Iron Swords.\u2019 The operation will continue and intensify at the pace we\u2019ve determined. The only thing that can halt our further advance is the release of our hostages.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Chief of Staff emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation and added:
\n\u201cWe will maintain operational ambiguity and the fog of war\u2014the ground will speak for itself. The release of the hostages will allow our forces to return to initial positions and enable the continuation of negotiations.\u201d<\/p>\n
