The data comes from the 2023 Social Survey and 2024 driver\u2019s license statistics. By the end of 2024, the number of licensed drivers in Israel reached 5.25 million\u2014an increase of 3% compared to the end of 2023.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Driver\u2019s License Ownership by Age and Gender<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>About 76% of Israelis aged 16 and older hold a driver\u2019s license.<\/li>\n<li>In 2024, the percentage of 16\u201318-year-olds with a license rose by about 2% compared to 2023.<\/li>\n<li>Approximately 67% of women aged 16 and over have a license, compared to around 84% of men.<\/li>\n<li>License ownership peaks among those aged 35\u201344, with about 90% holding a license, compared to just 58% of people aged 65 and older, and only 33% of those aged 16\u201318.<\/li>\n<li>Around 83% of all licensed drivers have held their license for more than five years, while about 7% have had one for less than two years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_18595\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-18595\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-18595 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/reganews.co.il\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/CBS2-1024x702.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"548\" srcset=\"https:\/\/reganews.co.il\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/CBS2-1024x702.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/reganews.co.il\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/CBS2-300x206.jpg 300w, https:\/\/reganews.co.il\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/CBS2-768x526.jpg 768w, https:\/\/reganews.co.il\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/CBS2-1536x1052.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/reganews.co.il\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/CBS2.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-18595\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Increase in Driver\u2019s Licenses in Israel | Photo: Flash90<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Truck and Motorcycle Licenses<\/strong><br \/>\nIn the Bedouin towns of Lakiya and Kuseife, 38%\u201339% of licensed drivers are certified to drive heavy trucks\u2014a figure significantly higher than the national average of 10.7%.<\/p>\n<p>For motorcycles, 21%\u201323% of drivers in areas like Azor, Tel Aviv\u2013Jaffa, Ramat Gan, Eilat, and Giv\u2019atayim are licensed to operate two-wheeled vehicles.
