Reuters <\/em>reported today (Wednesday) that Israel has requested mediators to extend its military presence in southern Lebanon until February 28, according to two sources familiar with the matter. Under the original ceasefire agreement, Israel was set to withdraw its forces by January 26. This deadline was later extended to February 18, and now, according to reports, Israel is seeking an additional extension.<\/p>\n
