For 482 days in Hamas captivity, Agam Berger refrained from eating meat that did not meet kosher dietary laws. According to fellow captive Liri Elbag, who was held alongside her, Berger also avoided other foods, which reportedly caused her to appear pale in the later stages of her captivity. This was reported by news site Israel Hayom.<\/em><\/p>\n

Last week, as reports emerged about her imminent release, Agam\u2019s mother, Merav Berger, issued a request through the media, asking that no coverage violate the sanctity of Shabbat. She emphasized that the family remains committed to honoring Shabbat, even in the midst of this emotional moment.<\/p>\n

In a conversation with Merav Berger, Liri Elbag described the struggles they faced in captivity: “You and your daughter went through the same journey\u2014just on opposite sides of the fence.”<\/p>\n

Parents Express Gratitude and Hope for Remaining Hostages<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Thank God we have reached this moment,” Agam\u2019s parents said following her release. “Our brave daughter has returned to us after 482 days in enemy hands. She is strong, faithful, and courageous. We want to express our deepest gratitude to the security forces and to all of Israel for their unwavering support and prayers.
